Congratulations on the journey to growing your own cannabis!
Here are some tips for keeping your plant(s) alive and healthy.
Never over water! That is often the #1 mistake of most growers. Lightly water the plant; you can always water more as needed, but overwatering will kill the plant.The plant will gradually take more water as it grows and takes the most water in the 3-5 weeks of flowering and then pull back on amount of water given in very late flower phase.
Transplant from the 3in pot when you can see roots on the underside of the pot. We recommend transplanting from the 3in pot to a 1,2, or 3 gallon pot to avoid overwatering. Step up pot size gradually but as the plant grows, the more soil the roots have to expand, the bigger the plant can grow. We do not recommend planting in any larger than 5 gallon pots for indoor growing. from a 1-3 gallon pot, you can plant into your final location. For outdoor plants, if planted by June 1st, we recommend at least 50 gallons of soil, native dirt etc so the plant can grow to its maximum potential.
Immediately Introduce a fertilizer program to keep the plants healthy and growing strong. Start feeding lightly and you can gradually increase fertilizer as the plant get bigger. Adjust fertilizing program accordingly between vegetative and flowering stages. It is ideal to test the ph of your nutrient solution and have it land between 6.0-6.5 ph. Amending the soil with organic nutrients minimizes need to monitor ph as organics in the soil help balance ph. If using Coco your ph should land between 5.8-6.2 ph

If growing outdoors, do not put plants outside without supplemental light before May 15th(early may if you have full sun) or the plant may start to flower early and then revert back to vegetative stage in mid June causing the plant confusion that will negatively impact the yield of flower bud you will harvest. If the plant is kept under minimal supplemental light; a normal light bulb is sufficient, then the plant will stay in the vegetative stage until you do away with the supplemental light. Outdoors, plants will naturally start to flower around the first week of August unless supplemental light is still on them.
When putting your plant outdoor, place it in the shade for a couple days so it can harden off and get used to the intensity of the sun. Placing a plant from indoors to outside without a period of shade can kill the plant.
We also recommend introducing a IPM( integrated pest management) plan immediately. Bad bugs love cannabis and can come from any environment. There are many safe, non toxic products to use to foliar spray your plants to keep bugs away or kill them. Consult with your local grow store on what product is best for your growing environment.
